Bittersweet news everybody!

Poncla.com as we know it is over.  However, the Poncla team (me included) is still working hard on the problem of creating social experiences with the people around you and you should hear from us soon with a shiny new (and much much better) web application for you to use.

We’ve just released a new update with simpler tasks.  Since even before Poncla was made, I’ve been working on the best workflow and user experience for groups like you.  Sadly, it’s not quite crafted yet, but everyone on the team is working hard to figure it out.  Please stick with us and send us any feedback you have!

Hello internet!

We’ve got some really exciting news. That’s right, another Poncla release! The Poncla team has been working diligently these past several weeks to improve user experience as well as providing new features for Poncla. One of the most important feature recently launched is email notifications! Users are now notified through email when there is group activity.

Quick note, we’ve fixed a bug where some users who were registered still had a pending status which prevented them from receiving emails. We’ve worked really hard to fix this issue! 

What’s new:

• Email Notification based on group activity
• Improved security
• Slightly updated Poncla’s wardrobe

What’s been fixed:

• Fixed a bug where some registered users are still marked as pending
• Fixed a bug that sent incorrect emails
• Added links to email notifications

Just wanted to say, we’re still alive and working here at Poncla.  It’s been quiet during the holidays, but should have a new release coming your way soon :)

EDIT: As of 5:30pm PST, Poncla is back up.

Sad news, Poncla is currently down due to a bad RAID card on our webserver.  We’re monitoring the problem and will let you know when we’re back up.

To explain in depth, we don’t actually own the machines that run Poncla, we rent the space from another company.  So, when problems occur, we rely on them to fix it.  Don’t worry though, we’re tracking all the downtime in order to ensure you guys have the best Poncla experience and the least downtime.

We’ve made significant user interface updates to Poncla! Make sure to try out the site on an iPad, mobile phone or a computer, we’ve worked hard to make things look great across multiple platforms. Don’t forget to refresh your browser to see the latest changes!

What else is new?

• Users can now see their groups’ activities in the home portal
• Tasks and participants are now highlighted green after completion
• Time zone selection is now easier during registration or when updating your profile
• Improved security

What’s been fixed?

• Fixed bug where users were unable to invite multiple people to their group at once
• Fixed bug where posting a comment resulted in a broken link
• Fixed bug where the calendar would show tasks from the previous month
